Management

The association is run by a management committee of volunteers, consisting of an honorary president, chair person, vice chair person, secretary, treasurer and 6 additional members from the communities serviced.

Staff

  • A professional senior social worker is employed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) who is in charge of the overall day-to-day running of the centre and supervision of the staff.
  • An administrative assistant assists the CEO with management and administration.
  • A community worker who is responsible for assessing and responding to the needs of the disabled in the community. She also runs groups of adults with a disability and an outreach programme for children with special needs.
  • A supervisor/carer and two assistant carers care for the children at the Sinethemba Centre
  • A social auxiliary worker provides counselling and support for the families of the disabled and runs groups for young adults with a disability in Masiphumelele and outreach the community.
  • A principal/teacher/manager, three child carers and two assistants care for the children.
  • Two cook/cleaners prepare hot cooked meals for the children daily at the centre.
  • A driver transports the children to and from the centres and to Red Cross Hospital for their clinic appointments and also is a gardener and handyman.
  • Therapists provide programmes for stimulating the children.
