Fish Hoek-Kommetjie-Noordhoek Welfare Association
Fish Hoek - Kommetjie - Noordhoek Welfare Association (FHKNWA) focus on working with people with special needs in the Simon's Town Magisterial District, specifically in Masiphumelele and Ocean View. The area also incorporates Simon’s town, Red Hill, Scarborough, Kommetjie, Sunnydale, Glencairn, Noordhoek and Fish Hoek.
Area of Operation
The Association was originally established in 1954 to meet the needs of farm workers in the Fish Hoek-Kommetjie-Noordhoek valley and surrounds, in order to address poverty, unemployment and lack of housing due to the rezoning of farmland to residential land.
Brief History
The association is run by a management committee of volunteers, consisting of an honorary president, chair person, vice chair person, secretary, treasurer and 6 additional members from the communities serviced.
